Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in acute care and outpatient settings, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care during the recovery phase following surgical procedures. This role requires a commitment to patient safety, effective communication, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes for patients of all ages.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients' vital signs and overall condition post-anesthesia.
- Administer medications as prescribed and manage acute pain effectively.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding recovery processes, medication administration, and family planning.
- Collect specimens for laboratory analysis as needed and process them according to established protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions accurately in electronic health records.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures in the PACU environment.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new nursing staff as required.
Years of Experience: 2 year(s)
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Experience in acute care settings; outpatient experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration, including acute pain management techniques.
- Familiarity with specimen collection processing protocols.
- Experience working with children is a plus; experience in assisted living environments is also beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to best practices in nursing care.

Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:30 - 19:30)
Pay: $60.85 per hour
