The Senior Electrical Engineer is critical to the design, integration, and delivery of electrical systems for complex marine vessels. You will play a key role in supporting shipbuilding projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of electrical systems for naval and commercial vessels.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, structural, and systems engineers.
- Ensure compliance with classification society rules, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
- Provide technical oversight during construction, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, and Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or eligibility.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in shipbuilding or marine systems.
- Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems, power distribution, automation, and control systems.
- Familiarity with CAD tools and electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
