Summary of Job Duties:

The Department of Respiratory Care in the College of Health Professions is seeking a qualified Instructor (faculty member) to contribute to the education and training of respiratory care students. This position involves both primary and supplementary teaching responsibilities, direct student support, and participation in departmental activities.

Primary Teaching:
RESP 42571 Literature Review
RESP 52573 Literature Review
RESP 43603 Special Topics: Acute Respiratory Syndromes

Supplementary Teaching:
RESP 31131 Equipment and Techniques I Laboratory
RESP 31151 Basic Assessment and Diagnosis Laboratory


Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Respiratory Care (MSRC)

  • Current credentials/licensure:

    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), National Board for Respiratory Care

    • Neonatal Pediatric Specialty (NPS), National Board for Respiratory Care

    • Asthma Educator – Certified (AE-C), National Asthma Educator Certification Board

    • Registered Nurse, Arkansas State Board of Nursing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior teaching or instructional experience in a respiratory care or clinical setting


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and answer questions for students

  • Conduct exam reviews and support student learning outside of class

  • Assist with grading assignments, exams, and other student work

  • Participate in departmental activities and meetings

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair
