JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the director and/or the head lifeguard, the Lifeguard functions as a lifeguard providing supervision of pool activities when on duty. Demonstrates a commitment to professional accountability and growth to maintain and expand knowledge and skills. Contributes to the achievement of the mission and philosophy of Organization. Contributes to the effective operation of the Organization by demonstrating dependability in job performance. Exhibits the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide and promote safe environment for aquatic activities.
- Assists with facility cleanliness (pool water, deck, etc.).
- Demonstrates ability to test water chemistry as required and handle fecal/vomit emergencies.
- Contributes to the effective operations of the Wellness Center by demonstrating dependability in job performance.
- Promotes EMRMC philosophy of quality of care.
- Demonstrates a commitment to professional accountability and growth to maintain and expand knowledge and skills.
- Contributes to the achievement of the mission, vision, and values of the Organization.

WORKING CONDITIONS, HAZARDS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
The task of this job does not involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues but employment may require performing supplemental tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. Must be able to move or position up to 25 lbs. independently.
CONTACTS WITH OTHERS:
Interacts with customers, Associates, patients, and guests on a routine basis.
EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Maintains knowledge of all safety, maintenance, and other equipment appropriate to the job.
