ROLE SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Chief Development Officer (CDO), but in the interim to the Senior Director of Development Operations, the Grants and Account Manager is a key member of the Development team. This role is responsible for stewarding a modest portfolio of existing funders, including corporates, CRA funders, and individual donors. The Grants and Account Manager will strengthen funder relationships by leading the drafting of grant proposals and reports, and by monitoring proper grant spend-down.
This position collaborates closely with subject matter experts and internal teams—including Data Analytics, Finance, and Accounting—to gather data for funder communications, track grant deliverables, maintain an up-to-date grants calendar, and ensure grant funds are accurately recorded and spent in accordance with grant agreements.
The ideal candidate has a strong track record in grants management and funder stewardship, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. They should be able to clearly and persuasively communicate complex information to a range of audiences. Strong organizational skills, flexibility, attention to detail, and a commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace are essential.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage a growing portfolio of corporate accounts and current donors including maintaining relationships, regular communication, cultivation, stewardship and solicitations.
- Responsible for meeting an annual personal fundraising goal through stewardship and solicitation of existing funders and donors, contributing to the overall Development team’s goal.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of funder and donor accounts, ensuring effective communication and stewardship, and tracking outreach efforts.
- Leads/participates in negotiations and renewals for assigned accounts with a goal of growing funding from existing partners.
- Collaborate with internal teams and subject matter experts to develop opportunities and provide support on existing funding partnership.
- Use Salesforce and the Development department’s database to maintain accurate and timely information on portfolio and pipeline
- Monitor grant deadlines and reporting requirements, ensuring that all deadlines are met.
- Coordinate with Finance and Accounting to ensure compliance with all grants.
- Provide regular reporting on the status of pipeline and revenue goals.
- Stay informed about industry trends, identifying new opportunities for partnership and revenue generation.
- Assist in writing, editing and gathering information for grant proposals, grant reports, LOIs and other funder communications.
- Support the Development team, and/or leadership with prospect research and relationship management of institutional funders.
MUST HAVES:
- 3+ years of foundation and/or corporate fundraising experience, including grant management
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, relevant experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted.
- Knowledge of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies and techniques related to foundation, corporation, and government fundraising and induvial giving.
- Demonstrated project management skills; ability to work independently and successfully manage multiple projects with competing deadlines; excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills; ability to initiate and build lasting relationships with funders across sectors.
- Strong communication skills; ability to write and verbally communicate clearly, structured, and persuasive proposals; comfort using data to create strategic and compelling arguments.
- Familiarity with financial information, including ability to create and/or evaluate grant budgets.
- Complete proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required. Experience with Salesforce CRM preferred.
- Enthusiasm for Accion Opportunity Fund’s mission of financial inclusion and helping small business owners advance their economic well-being.
- Team player with a positive attitude and ability to be flexible.
NICE TO HAVES:
- Experience in fundraising for economic development, financial health and/or Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs)
- Solid understanding of non-profit administrative, financial management and operational processes.
- Experience with CRM and Donor Databases such as Salesforce
- Experience using project management tool, Asana

Salary Range*: $82,000 - $102,900
