The Onsite Controller will be responsible for overseeing financial statements like balance sheets, invoices, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Their duties include directing accounting managers and department operations, compiling financial reports based on financial statements and implementing policies and procedures for financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll. 
  2. Oversees training programs and identifies training needs. 
  3. Travels as necessary to support systems/metric/control/process implementation at any SSW Facility. 
  4. Performs cost accounting transactions, evaluation of standard costs, inventory transactions.
  5. Provide proper guidance and assistance to Local Plant Managers. 
  6. Performs cost improvement optimization analysis and saving strategies. 
  7. Safeguard of financials assets
  8. Perform month-end closing activities and maintenance of an accurate general ledger. 
  9. Demonstrated strength in overall general ledger accounting and reconciliation aptitudes with emphasis on ensuring a clean balance sheet and accurate income statements. 
  10. Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. 
  11. Appraise, evaluate, and inventory real property and equipment, recording information such as the description, value, and location of property. Involvement in physical inventories and make necessary corrections to general ledger perpetual system. 
  12. Upkeep of accurate standard costing of inventory. 
  13. Assist the GM and/or Asst US Group Controller in preparation of financial estimates. 
  14. Attend team meetings as requested. 
  15. Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice. 
  16. Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures and efficient control and utilization of financial resources. 
  17. Provide daily financial guidance to the GM to ensure the division is meeting financial objectives. 
  18. Assist the Asst US Group Controller in strategic financial, accounting, and operational projects.
  19. Assist the Asst. US Group Controller in organizational learning initiatives. 
  20. Administer company internal control policy and adhere to US GAAP and tax laws. 
  21. Advise management about issues such as resource utilization, tax strategies, and the assumptions underlying budget forecasts. 
  22. Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions. 
  23. Maintain or examine the records of government agencies. 
  24. Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards. Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, or other tax requirements. 
  25. Be available for extended travel assignments to sister facilities for learning, training and meeting purposes. 
  26. Responsible for Accounting and Reporting functions as assigned. 
  27. This job exists to carry out needed accounting and reporting functions.

Qualifications, Experience requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, accounting or finance is needed.
  • 3 or more years' experience in a related business area. 
  • Experience in a Metal Manufacturing companies preferred. 

 General requirements:

  • Availability to go to the division from Monday to Friday
  • Detailed and hands-on oriented.
