Key Responsibilities

 

The Lab Technician is an entry-level support position in the QC department. The Lab Technician assists the Chemists in operating and testing with the assigned laboratory equipment. This position entails strict adherence to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), cGMP guidelines, and commitment to upholding environmental, health, and safety standards.

  • Work is closely managed and supervised

 

Essential Functions and Detailed Duties

 

Support one or more of the following laboratory functions: Analytical Method Validation, Raw Material, Finished Product, or Stability.

 

  • Must be able to complete the following Laboratory Technician tasks:
    • Following established procedures and assisting chemists in operating assigned laboratory equipment, including area and equipment preparation.
    • Assist the Chemist in routine testing and provide experiment support.
    • Assist the Chemist in equipment cleaning according to machine/Instrument requirements or SOP.
    • Assist in preparing protocols and reports.

Perform Instrument calibration on a daily basis and assigned a periodic basis

  • Maintain laboratory documentation with details of test procedures and results in accordance with regulatory guidelines.  
  • Properly document activities in lab records, forms, and other GMP documents.
  • Offer suggestions to superiors and follow up on process improvements related to safety, compliance, cost, and productivity.
  • Recognize and report any atypical occurrences or discrepancies.
  • Adhere to cGMP’s and Standard Operating Procedures as required.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workplace.
  • To support the team in data compilation and data entry.
  • To support the scanning and archival of QC documents/records.
  • Assist in document preparation and data entry verification work.
  • Be able to perform other duties as assigned.

 

Specialized Skills and Knowledge:                 

 

  • Basic laboratory skills
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory balance, pH meter and physical testing
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must complete departmental SOP, GMP, and any required Qualifications.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • After six months of training, will have basic knowledge of lab methods.

 

Experience and Education                             

 

  • BS in Chemistry or science-related field
  • No previous experience required.

 

Physical Demands/Factors

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand.  The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands; talk; and hear.  The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

Compensation and Benefits


Compensation:


This is a non-exempt position that pays $23.25 per hour.


This pay represents the base hourly rate.  In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus which aligns to both individual and company performance.
