2nd Shift 5 pm - 2 am

The Assistant Production Manager oversees all production operations during the night shift to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency in a food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for meeting production targets, managing and developing shift personnel, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
· Plan, coordinate, and monitor all production activities during the night shift to meet daily schedules and output goals.
· Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles, and all food safety regulations.
· Monitor production lines to ensure product quality and consistency.
· Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to minimize downtime.
Leadership & Team Management
· Supervise, train, and coach production leads, machine operators, and support staff.
· Conduct shift handovers, ensuring smooth communication with day shift leadership.
· Manage staffing levels and assign responsibilities to meet operational demands.
· Provide performance feedback, address disciplinary issues, and promote a positive work culture.
Safety & Compliance
· Enforce workplace safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA and company standards.
· Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
· Ensure all employees follow proper PPE, sanitation, and hygiene protocols.
Continuous Improvement
· Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
· Work with maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
· Maintain accurate production, quality, and safety records for management review.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Food Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
· Minimum 5 years of production supervisory experience in food manufacturing or related industry, including night shift leadership.
· Strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, and food safety compliance requirements.
