We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Sommelier to join our innovative restaurant team for the coming 2025/26 winter season!
Key Responsibilities
- Sales and recommendations of selected wines
- Management of our wine cellar and stock control
- Monthly inventories and preparation of wine lists
- Ordering of new wines
- Active sales and advice to our guests in the selection of food and beverages, especially in the context of our wines
- Welcoming and looking after guests
- Organisation of wine tastings and events
- Collaboration with the kitchen team, to optimally coordinate wine pairings with our range of dishes
- Table service
- Maintaining contacts with winegrowers and wine merchants
- Assistance with breakfast service and a la carte service in the evening
- Daily mise en place work
- Participation in weekly training courses
- Working to Kempinski standards
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Completed training in a comparable hotel and several years of extensive professional experience in upscale gastronomy
- Knowledge of wine service and winemaking
- Comprehensive knowledge of grapes and grape varieties
- Certified sommelier
- Sound knowledge of current wine trends and ratings
- Able to organise training sessions for the team
- Ability to work under pressure, orderliness and a very high level of quality awareness Structured, organised working style, and very high quality awareness
- Structured and organised way of working
- Great interest in team-oriented work
- Your motto is to be a perfect and amiable host to every guest
- You are happy to take responsibility for the guests and employees entrusted to you and are happy to pass on your expertise to younger colleagues
- Very good knowledge of German and English is a prerequisite. Basic knowledge of another foreign language is desirable
