AHCH currently has an open opportunity for an engaging, detail-oriented person that seeks to have direct, positive impact on client lives through our Housing Associate position.
The Housing Associate position reports to the Housing Coordinator and is responsible for all aspects of Rental Assistance Programs (RA) of Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless in accordance with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) guidelines. This includes applicant approval, intake, file maintenance, housing inspections (using a HUD approved inspection checklist), client relationships, and data entry into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). This position also utilizes AHCH's electronic health record to document progress, interactions, and client compliance with the program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all Housing Program activities including monitoring policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with HUD and Coalition to end Homelessness (COC) guidelines.
- Maintenance of housing files.
- Maintain and develop landlord relationships to increase housing options as well as identification of housing resources.
- Conduct successful completion of initial inspection, prior to client move-in and annual inspections.
- Report required deposit and rent information to finance.
- Maintain all appropriate data for all quarterly and annual reports including timely and accurate data entry into HMIS, to include entry, exit, and annual updates.
- Facilitate and follow up to ensure timely repairs by the landlord, work closely with Community Support Workers (CSWs) to address landlord/client issues including evictions, move outs, move in.
- Attend and facilitate lease signings.
- Assist with external audits
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people
- Valid NM driver's license or ability to obtain NM driver’s license within 30 days
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have good organizational skills
- Comfort with working in variable work locations
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
- 2 years of experience oversight of a housing/voucher program
- Bachelor’s degree in human/social services or related field or commensurate work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with people with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorder
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- NSPIRE certified
