Organ Utilization Manager, Organ Recovery

DonorConnect is seeking a full-time Organ Utilization Manager. The Manager of Organ Utilization oversees the operational aspects and ensures regulatory compliance of DonorConnect's organ placement, research, and transplant program. The Organ Utilization Manager will develop strategic goals for the organ recovery department while upholding all policies, programs, objectives, and strategies set forth by DonorConnect, UNOS, and AOPO. You will work closely with your team on employee engagement and be responsible for performance management activities such as one-on-one meetings and coaching/feedback. The Organ Utilization Manager will also oversee the financial activities of the department. You will set the fiscal year budget plan and document expenses and payroll. Additionally, You will be responsible for quality assurance/improvement activities such as PEC meetings, internal audits, training, and maintaining regulatory standards. You will develop, interpret, and analyze data about the nature and volume of transplant center organ allocation acceptance and utilization practices. You will be key in the evaluation and understanding of proposed research applications. As well as support researchers with application submission, policy/training development, and protocol rollout. You will work with other department heads to develop research measurements, track research participation and outcomes, and help educate on approved research protocols. As the Organ Utilization Manager, You will establish monthly meetings to review and develop strategies to increase organ utilization as well as be the point person for transplant center data requests and variance follow-up. Finally, you will develop and maintain relationships with other transplant programs by traveling to conferences, organ procurement organizations, and transplant programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Training/Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, and/or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
  • Maintain healthcare licensure (RN Preferred)
  • CPTC, CCTC, or CCTN certification preferred

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of five years of healthcare experience, OPO experience preferred. Relevant outside work experience will be considered

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to travel for in-person meetings locally and nationally
  • Knowledge of the organ and tissue transplant fields preferred
  • Understanding of the critical care environment
  • Knowledge of research protocol review and implementation
  • Knowledge of OPTN policies
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software. Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Proficiency in Power BI and prior experience with UNET and iTransplant
  • Able to work independently
  • Strong Emotional Intelligence
  • Excellent public relations and interpersonal abilities
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Attentive to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Able to work well with all levels of personnel in hospital settings
  • Willingness to train and assist others
