Job Description
This is a salary non-exempt (day rate) position.
Position Overview:
ARTCo is currently seeking a crew boat captain to operate small passenger vessels at ARTCo’s facilities at mile markers 121, 116, and 110 on the Lower Mississippi River. The schedule is 5 days, 5 nights, 5 days off – 12 hour shifts.
Job Responsibilities:
Safely operate small passenger vessels.
Adhere to all provisions of the vessels Certificate of Inspection.
Assist supervisor with successful completion USCG annual inspections.
Transport passengers and supplies from docks to destination:
Barge fleets,
Stevedoring cranes,
Gemini rig,
Ships in berths,
Etc.
Effective communication via VHF radio and vessel phone.
Ability to effectively manage trips in an efficient manner.
Maintain all electronic required logs, records, fuel reading, etc.
Maintain a positive relationship with internal and external customers.
Ability to operate a computer.
Maintaining the cleanliness of the vessel. Washing, cleaning, and painting.
Ability to work a swing shift at all locations as listed above.
Promote safety and all safety rules. Complete all required safety training.
Assist supervisor and mechanics on vessel service and repair.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues aboard the vessel.
Other duties as designated by management.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work indoors and outdoors and in varying conditions such as hot, cold, dusty, etc.
Standing and sitting for prolonged periods of time.
Operating a keyboard.
Kneeling and climbing stairs/ladders.
Ability to work near or on large bodies of water, at various heights and in confined spaces.
ADM requires the successful completion of a background check.
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
The pay range for this position is expected to be between:
$380-$418 per day
