JOB TITLE: General Education Para-professional

Location: Angoon School

Length of Position:

• For the 2025-2026 school year

• August 2025-May 22nd 2026

   

  Hourly Rate of Pay:

• Pay is dependent on experience and education for placement on the salary schedule.

• Monday through Friday – 5.5 hours per day

   

  Duties: The individual in this position will be responsible for carrying out the duties of a para-professional within the Department of General Education and working directly with teachers and students. This position is supervised by the site principal.

   

  Examples of Duties:

• Assist the instructor and teachers in implementing educational plans, preparing materials, and assisting students as needed.

• Other duties as assigned.

• Complete mandated training related to the job.
  
  Express a positive attitude while at work with students and colleagues.

   

  Ability to:

• Write/record DATA collected for Teacher reports on students’ progress

• Report to work daily on time

• Supervise students with little guidance

• Use digital communications (phone, text, email)
  Use Internet-based programs for time clock, leave requests, and general paperwork.

   

  Qualifications:

• Have a high school diploma.

• Must be able to achieve a highly qualified instructional status.

• Being on time each day is an absolute must. Failure to be on time each day is cause for immediate dismissal.
