Archaeologist
Your role will include assisting staff with report submittals and coordinating cultural resources fieldwork for various programs and clients including for large utilities clients including: archaeological survey, testing, evaluation, construction monitoring, report and section writing, as well as other tasks as assigned. Must demonstrate awareness for workplace safety; and be willing to work independently when conditions are appropriate or with limited supervision. You will work closely with Stantec's utility project managers, field staff, and environmental staff.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Manage tasks and projects according to approved scopes of work, and deliver quality reports on schedule and within budget
- Interact and interface with clients and environmental regulators
- Participate in Health, Safety and Environment (HSSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work
- Assignments/projects are advanced in nature and require the application of mature knowledge
- Responsible for planning and conducting assignments/ projects having broad scope for independent accomplishment and coordination of difficult tasks
- Provide supervision, training, technical direction and mentoring to more junior staff
- Review work of junior staff
- Travel – Up to 20% - Local and regional travel required
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 2-4 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education (e.g., advanced degree) and experience preferred. This is position is a combination of local/regional travel and a desktop position with typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
