Position:              Steward

Department:        Food and Beverage

 

Job Summary:    Ensures all dishware, glassware, flatware, and other eating utensils as well as pots and pans are cleaned and sanitized according to established standards.  Utilizes dish machines and other equipment ensuring safety and cautionary signage are appropriately displayed, when necessary.

 

Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):

  1. Cleans and sanitizes all dishware, glassware, silverware, flatware, and other eating utensils as well as pots and pans are cleaned and sanitized according to established standards.
  2. Keeps dishware, glassware, flatware, and other eating utensils organized and ready for use.
  3. Assists with maintaining the cleanliness of other kitchen areas, such as work stations and food delivery carts.
  4. Maintains proper inventory levels of cleaning supplies in own work area; advises supervisor if running short.
  5. Inspects equipment before and after use; makes sure it is clean and in proper working order.
  6. Follows established safety and security policies and procedures including reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions immediately to a supervisor.
  7. Participates in cross-training, as available, such as learning how to prep food items.
  8. Works collaboratively with team members to ensure a smooth running operation.
  9. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of cleaning tools and equipment.
  2. Organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
  4. Able to follow verbal instructions and perform the job with professionalism.
  5. Ability to lift or move fifty (50) pounds, with or without a reasonable accommodation as well as push and pull carts weighing one hundred (100) pounds or more, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  6. Ability to walk and stand approximately 90% of a shift.
  7. Ability to read, write, and fill out any necessary paperwork.
  8. Ability to use some food preparation equipment.
  9. Ability to work in a fast paced environment that may be stressful at times.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Ability to lift or move fifty (50) pounds, with or without a reasonable accommodation as well as push and pull carts weighing one hundred (100) pounds or more, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  2. Must be reliable and dependable.
  3. Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, special events, and overtime, as needed.
  4. Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
  5. Must be able to obtain, maintain, and retain a valid gaming license.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Previous food service experience.
