Our organization utilizes Magaya as our primary system for logistics and financial management. Position Overview


We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our accounting operations, with a focus on general ledger reconciliation, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the 3PL/forwarding industry and be proficient with our Magaya system.


Key Responsibilities

  • General Ledger Management: Oversee and perform monthly general ledger reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Accounts Receivable: Manage the AR function, including collections, cash application, and aging analysis.
  • Accounts Payable: Supervise the AP process, including vendor invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor statement reconciliation.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and other financial data.
  • Month-End Close: Support the monthly closing process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all accounting activities.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
  • System Management: Serve as a power user for Magaya system, optimizing financial processes and workflows.
  • Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement accounting process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.


Qualifications

  • Experience: 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3-5 years in management role.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in the 3PL/forwarding industry strongly preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Systems Proficiency: Strong experience with Magaya software and advanced Excel skills (including vlookups, pivot tables, and macros).
  • Technical Skills: Thorough understanding of GAAP, financial statements, and accounting principles.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop accounting staff.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and high standards for accuracy.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work Location: This is a full-time, onsite (in-office) position


Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to perform hands-on accounting tasks as needed
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial software implementations
  • Knowledge of international shipping and logistics accounting preferred
  • Familiarity with customs regulations and international trade finance a plus

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position with standard office hours (onsite). The role involves sitting for extended periods and computer work. Occasional overtime may be required during month-end closing or audit periods.
