We are seeking a DOT Hydrotest / UE Technician to join our Seattle shop team. This position focuses exclusively on the testing of cylinders in a water jacket or Ultrasonic test machine in a controlled shop environment. The ideal candidate will have experience running these machines, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
●Test all types of cylinders to DOT specifications.
●Safely De-valve and valve cylinders to aid in testing or repair as needed.
●Mark cylinders with new test date by DOT approved methods (which include stamping into the steel cylinder with a hammer and stamp)
●Record testing data per DOT specifications
●Maintain accurate service and inspection records.
●Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
●Experience in Hydrotesting or Ultrasonic testing of DOT cylinders
●Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
●Attention to detail with commitment to quality workmanship.
●Ability to follow written procedures and safety protocols.
●Good organizational and time management skills.
●Dependable, reliable, and able to work independently or in a team.
Requirements:
●High school diploma or equivalent.
●Experience testing cylinders via Hydrotest or UE machines preferred
●1–2 years of mechanical, technical, or equipment service experience preferred.
●Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
●Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
●Ability to stand, bend, kneel, or crouch for extended periods.
Working Conditions:
●Shop environment with variable temperatures and occasional dust.
●Frequent standing and use of hand tools.
