BayCare Clinic Gynecologic Oncology is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our team in Green Bay. We’re looking for a compassionate, thoughtful candidate who wants to contribute to a positive experience for all our patients. The typical hours for this role are Monday-Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm. No Holidays! No Weekends!

The Practice:
Our gynecologic oncologists treat women with gynecologic cancers as well as certain benign (non-cancerous) conditions that may require surgery. Our team provides a multidisciplinary approach to cancer therapy. We create individualized gynecologic cancer treatment plans based on the latest cancer research and technology.

The Job:
- Assists practitioners with patients; escorting patients to rooms, collecting urine specimens, taking vital signs, and patient teaching as directed by a physician.
- May assist nursing staff in admitting patients in the pre-operative area.
- Informs nursing staff of any patient concerns.
- May assist in the post-operative execution of physician orders.
- Assists physician with treatment of patients such as: handling of instruments, tube changes, dilations, catheterizations and Foley insertions, dressing changes, clip removal, removing sutures, discontinuing IV’s, etc.
- Draws and administers injections, oral medications, bladder installations, etc.
- Assists with surgery and/or procedures as requested.
- Schedules required tests.
- Talks with patients regarding scheduled tests and test results as indicated from charts after review by physician.
- Answers minor medical problem questions for patients.
- Makes telephone calls to patients regarding physician orders and/or prescription medications ordered by the physician.
- Stocks appropriate medical and drug supplies.
- Assists in routine cleaning of patient rooms, waiting areas, and toys, and maintains accurate cleaning logs.
- Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly sterilizer tests including cold sterilizer testing.
- Accurately documents all care provided to the patient in the patient’s medical record.
- Respects and maintains confidentiality.
The Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program and a valid certification preferred.
- Experience and training as a medical assistant with demonstration of appropriate competencies may be accepted in lieu of completion of medical assistant program.
- 6 months – 1 year of prior Medical Assistant experience preferred.
- Must be computer literate and familiar with the software used at the practice site.
