Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with service users to foster engagement.
- Provide empathetic and professional support to individuals in mental distress.
- Assist service users in setting, prioritizing, and achieving personal goals to enhance hope, motivation, and ambition.
- Collaborate with individuals to develop and review assessments, safety management plans, and personalized recovery support plans.
- Contribute to safeguarding individuals from abuse and self-harm.
- Recognize and value lived experiences, encouraging peer support and service improvement.
- Communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, including marginalized or minority groups.
- Share knowledge, skills, and experiences within the team while maintaining confidentiality.
- Collaborate with external professionals and make referrals to community resources.
- Record and report activities and outcomes, highlighting examples of good practice.
- Maintain concise, accurate, and user-friendly records using Together’s computer-based systems.
- Participate in mandatory and job-related training, demonstrating commitment to continuous professional development.
- Uphold professional boundaries in all interactions with service users.
- Be available to work evenings and weekends.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Minimum of GCSE or Level II qualification in English, or equivalent
- Experience of working alongside individuals experiencing mental distress and in partnership with them
- Able to establish and maintain a safe environment
- Willing and able to collaborate with colleagues and other organisations
- Basic competence in the use of email and word processing software and computerised systems for service user records and reports
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills relating to housing, welfare benefits, education and relationships
- Able to produce clear records and reports in English
Desirable
- Experience in supporting vulnerable individuals gained from paid work and/or voluntary and/or life experience
- Lived experience of mental distress
- NVQ Level II in Health and Social Care, or equivalent
