Are you a dynamic leader who's passionate about people, service, and creating positive, high-energy environments? Aqua-Tots Swim School in Lexington is looking for a dedicated Assistant General Manager (AGM) to help lead our school with excellence.
As AGM, you'll partner closely with the General Manager to ensure that our school delivers consistent, high-quality swim instruction and a top-tier customer experience in a fun, safe, and team-oriented environment. JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant General Manager position consists of leading and managing all school staff in upholding the Aqua-Tots Swim School Core Values and brand standards. Our mission is to provide customers with consistent, quality swimming lessons that adhere to the Aqua-Tots Curriculum Standards and provide excellent customer service in a safe and welcoming environment.

- Full-time, salary-based position

- Days and hours may fluctuate based on the school’s needs and season
- Weekly expectations include:
- 1 front desk shift
- 1 in-water teaching shift
- 2 lobby shifts for family engagement
- 4 hours of team management, meeting, or observation
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and motivate staff to embody our Core Values and uphold brand standards
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling of team members
- Oversee team performance and support growth with ongoing feedback and development
- Foster a positive, team-first culture through regular meetings, coaching sessions, and team-building
- Drive exceptional customer service and lead the team in meaningful guest interactions
- Educate families on our swim programs and help them choose the best-fit lesson plan
- Track sales metrics and implement sales goals and incentive programs
- Manage class schedules in partnership with the General Manager
- Support families through any service concerns or special requests
- Ensure the school maintains high standards of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism
- Review incident reports and implement action plans when necessary
- Partner with the GM to manage the school budget and franchise reporting
- Participate in grassroots marketing efforts and coordinate with local marketing support
- Ensure that all staff adhere to the Aqua-Tots Core Values during all staff and customer interactions.
- Maintain a high level of customer engagement and ensure overall customer satisfaction by Creating the Aqua-Tots Experience
- Ensure overall school safety for staff and customers
- Educate customers in the Aqua-Tots ‘Learn to Swim’ program
- Sell swim lessons to meet the needs of customers
- Oversee the customer experience with technology platforms
- Oversee Front Desk staff in the tracking and converting of all leads
- Oversee the Front Desk in responding to customer service concerns and handling any escalated issues
- Follow up with customer withdrawals
- Ensure all staff maintain Aqua-Tots quality and consistency in providing excellent lessons, customer service, and a clean facility
- Implement sales goal incentive plan for all staff as determined by General Manager
- Assist in researching labor projections and determining hiring needs
- Assist in the recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of all staff
- Assist in keeping training platform in order/clean (staff profiles, training completion, reporting)
- Oversee the leadership development and growth of the Front Desk and Aquatic staffs
- Assist in quarterly and annual reviews with all staff
- Assist in ensuring all staff certifications are properly documented and current
- Assist in schedules, attendance, and shift coverage for all staff
- Uphold uniform expectations for each position
- Build a team environment and promote the Aqua-Tots culture amongst all staff
- Assist in leading and planning monthly in-service meetings
- Plan and hold quarterly team-building activities
- Ensure the interior and exterior of the facility adhere to the brand standard in overall appearance
- Ensure the pool, pump room, and pool environment adhere to the Aqua-Tots brand standard in overall appearance, safety, and cleanliness
- Review all incident reports and take appropriate action when necessary
- Carry out any other tasks to support team objectives that are assigned by your leadership as required

- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid Driver’s License
- Reliable transportation
- Eligible to work in the U.S.

- 2-3 years of management experience
- Customer service skills

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong report, writing, and presentation skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and energized by multi-tasking
- 1-2 years of aquatic experience
- Experience working with children
- Experience with sales and/or sales management
