The Vice President of Sales for the Electrical Equipment Center of Excellence (EECOE) is a critical executive leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and optimizing sales operations by connecting our products and services with customer needs. The VP, Sales will lead the development and execution of sales strategies, identify new market opportunities, and build a high-performing sales organization that consistently achieves ambitious targets. As a member of the senior leadership team, the VP, Sales strategically influences overall business strategy, collaborates cross-functionally with departments like Marketing and Product Development, and develops scalable sales policies. This role serves as a crucial brand ambassador, representing the company in key customer engagements and industry events, building strong relationships, and upholding our commitment to innovation and customer-centricity.
Requirements
• Deploy Sales Goals: Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to consistently meet and exceed annual booking targets and gross margin goals, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth. Establish forecasting models and oversee sales pipeline to provide visibility throughout the organization.
• Manage Sales Performance: Manage robust sales performance management systems, including setting clear objectives, monitoring progress, providing ongoing coaching, and conducting regular performance reviews to maximize team productivity, assess incentives, and individual accountability.
• Drive Estimation Process: Implement initiatives to optimize the sales estimation process, significantly reducing turnaround times to enhance customer satisfaction and improve overall operational efficiency. Clearly define project scope of work and drive successful handoff of projects to the Customer Quality team.
• Optimize CRM: Lead the effective utilization and continuous optimization of our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to manage the sales pipeline, track customer interactions, analyze sales data, and drive informed decision-making.
• Lead Portfolio Diversification: Identify and pursue opportunities for portfolio diversification by strategically expanding sales into new markets, industries, and customer segments, broadening our revenue streams and reducing reliance on existing markets.
• Customer Focus and Sponsorship: Champion a pervasive customer-first mindset across the organization. Represent the voice of the customer internally, advocating for continuous improvements that directly enhance customer experience. Cultivate relationship with identified customers by conducting monthly meetings, quarterly in-person visits, and annual voice of the customer initiatives.
Required Knowledge / Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or a related field with a strong background in the switchgear industry, engineering and customer delight.
• Master’s degree and/or MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in technical sales or a related field, with prior experience in overseeing both strategic and operational functions.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience, specifically coaching, mentoring, and developing professionals.
• Exceptional leadership and strategic planning capabilities, including strong project management and demonstrated experience mentoring and influencing team members.
• Proficiency in sales technology and data analytics. Salesforce software experience is a plus.
• Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
• Ability to prioritize workload, multitask, and work under pressure in a demanding environment.
• Ability to connect and integrate strategic priorities to ensure flawless, aligned, and scalable systems and processes.

Supervisory Requirements:
• Directly manage a team of 5-8 professionals
• Provides clear direction, priorities, and performance expectations to ensure alignment with company objectives

• Conducts performance evaluations and supports career growth opportunities within the team
• Fosters a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture
• Delegates responsibilities appropriately and ensures team members are equipped to succeed
• Partners with HR on recruiting, onboarding, and retaining top talent
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
• FLSA executive and professional positions paid on a salary basis, where project requirements and tight client deadlines may require workweeks over forty (40) hours (including weekends or holidays)
• This role will work in an office setting, however, frequent visits to the production floor are required to oversee operations, ensure compliance and safety standards, and engage staff.
• Mobility: Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs.
• Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items up to twenty-five (25) pounds. All lifting should be done following OSHA standards.
• Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate the plant safely and communicate effectively with team members.
