Job Description
General Responsibilities:
Responsible for the day-to-day operation and administration of the organizations network (LAN/WAN) environment, server environment, unified communications and virtual environment. This includes, but is not limited to the installation, administration, and maintenance of servers, software, hardware, firmware, routers, switches, WAN optimizers and firewalls. Perform technical analysis of software and hardware using various diagnostic tools to ensure efficient infrastructure operations. Monitors data traffic and controls network performance. Identifies, diagnoses and resolves technical problems related to network failure/integrity and usage of hardware, software and Enterprise applications.

Perform technical analysis of software and hardware using various diagnostic tools to ensure efficient infrastructure operations. Monitors data traffic and controls network performance. Identifies, diagnoses and resolves technical problems related to network failure/integrity and usage of hardware, software and Enterprise applications.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Escalation point for any issue within the Terracon network.
- Open and/or close work orders using the Service Desk software as needed.
- Assume primary responsibility for the installation, administration, and maintenance of the organizations server environment including both virtual and physical, Windows and Linux with some supervision.
- Participate in the resolution of high level issues involving hardware, firmware, storage and or software.
- Provisioning SAN storage resources with supervision
- Participate in the resolution of high level connectivity issues at the LAN/WAN level.
- Have a high level of computer security awareness.
- Assists with inventory management of hardware and software assets.
- Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience administering Windows Servers in an Active Directory environment.
- Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems preferred.
- Experience administering Exchange Server environments.
- Experience with virtual environments, e.g., VMware, Citrix, Hyper-V, etc.
- Windows Server operating systems
- Experience with Windows workstation operating systems in use at Terracon
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Operating systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory Services.
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange environments
- Linux Server operation systems
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
Preferred Certification:
- MCP certification
- MCSA certification
- MCSE certification
- N+ certification
- CCIE certification
- A+ certification or any combination
