Schedule: Monday-Wednesday 9am-4pm (part-time, 21 hours/week) (8am start time optional for 24 hours/week total)
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Mainstream Living provides services designed to enhance opportunities, create success and fulfill dreams. The purpose of this position is to provide positive customer service at all times in the Administrative office while interacting with staff, members & individuals from outside the agency. All personnel are expected to promote a safe and welcoming, home-like environment that inspires hope and supports members with their individual goals and aspirations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalency/HiSet/GED
Experience: One to three months related office experience and/or training
Driving: This position requires possession of valid Driver’s License, legal driving privileges and ability in the State of Iowa and qualification with Mainstream Living’s underwriter as an insurable driver. Exceptions to this may be made for non-direct service positions.
Other Certification: n/a
Computer: Basic data entry skills required.
Post hire: Must demonstrate competencies to complete internal training.

The Receptionist must have the ability to speak effectively while interacting on the phone or in person to customers, employees or consumers of the organization. Must present professionally and have the ability to speak effectively to stakeholders/customers, members and employees of the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is considered an essential health care worker position and in the event of an emergency may be required to work one-on-one with members to ensure their safety.
General Duties:
Provide excellent customer service and provide positive support for members and staff (answering questions, resolving issues)
Greets individuals (members, staff & outside agency individuals) in a friendly, hospitable manner. Triage meetings, visitors, upset members/visitors/stakeholders.
Professionally handles all incoming phone calls connecting individuals with the appropriate person
Receives and sorts mail daily into mailboxes, prepares intra-office mail/bags, stamps USPS mail & sends out as needed, receives and disburses USPS mail and supplies.
Completes tasks related to opening and/or closing of office
Assists with Representative Payee duties for members or stakeholders as requested (handing out checks, receiving receipts)
Keeps reception desk/office cleaned and organized
Replenishes supplies as needed
Maintains kitchenette area and coffee (clean & filled)
Troubleshoots office copier, fax, phones and vending machines & contact service
Carries out office safety measures and plans as needed.
