Working at Luminary 

At Luminary, we offer a Work From Anywhere Policy, which enables you to work from an environment where you can be at your best. This role will be  based in our Melbourne office, with the expectation that you'll be in the office one day a week to connect with your colleagues.

Who are we looking for? 

We are seeking an empathy-led, compassionate, proactive, and detail-oriented People & Culture Partner with a strong understanding of HR best practices and Australian labour laws. You'll have a high degree of empathy and emotional intelligence, and be skilled at handling sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism.

You'll also have a curious mind, a solution-oriented approach to problem-solving, and the ability to build strong relationships with people at all levels of the organisation.


Responsibilities 

As a People & Culture Partner, you will be responsible for:

  • Team Member Relations & Coaching: Acting as the first point of contact for employee queries, providing guidance on HR matters, and coaching Discipline Leads to build their leadership capabilities.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Coordinating and facilitating the recruitment process, including managing job ads and communicating with applicants. You'll also coordinate onboarding for new team members with relevant teams.
  • Employee Health & Wellbeing: Supporting initiatives that ensure a positive, healthy, and happy experience for our team members, championing our company culture and values.
  • HR Administration & Compliance: Maintaining accurate employee records, HRIS data, and ensuring compliance with all relevant employment laws.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Contributing to the development and execution of People & Culture strategies, including diversity & inclusion initiatives and workforce planning.
  • Continuous Improvement: Supporting our commitment to professional development and a culture of continuous learning.
  • Complaints Management: Serving as a point of contact for People & Culture complaints and helping team members resolve issues.

Qualifications 

  • 3-5 years of experience in a People & Culture or HR role, preferably in a fast-paced or high-growth environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
  • Solid understanding of Australian labour laws and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and G Suite. 
  • Experience in an organisation of a similar size (50-150 employees) is a bonus.
  • A relevant degree or certification in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is also a bonus.
