Position Purpose:


The Manager of Corporate Philanthropy plays a vital role within the Vermont Foodbank’s Philanthropy team, leading the strategy and execution of a comprehensive corporate giving program. This role is responsible for securing, expanding, and stewarding financial support from corporate partners through strategic relationship management, sponsorships, grant partnerships, employee engagement, in-kind donations, and cause marketing. This position will focus on identifying new corporate funding opportunities and developing multi-year engagement strategies for current and future corporate partners. 


This role reports to the Director of Strategic Giving and is a member of the Strategic Giving Team. They will work closely with that team to coordinate and execute a strategy for corporate donor and partner engagement, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. This role coordinates closely across the organization, including Marketing/Communications Team, Volunteer Services, Retail Food Sourcing, and others to build and deepen corporate partnerships that align with Vermont Foodbank’s mission, strategic priorities, and equity values. The Manager leads cross-functional coordination of partner engagement, ensures donor stewardship, and contributes to organizational revenue growth.  

  

Ideal candidates would be within an hour driving distance to our Barre Vermont distribution Center. Please note that this position will entail substantial travel across the state of Vermont. The pay range for this position is set between $61,285.00 and $82,915.00 annually with potential range placement based on years of experience within VF compensation equity roadmap.

Requirements

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:


  • Develop and manage a portfolio of current and prospective corporate donors and sponsors.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for corporate partners. Build long-term relationships with corporate contacts through consistent communication, site visits, and co-branded activations. Travel to meet with corporate partners and represent Vermont Foodbank in external meetings and events.
  • Create individualized engagement plans for key corporate partners to grow revenue through marketing, workplace giving, customer fundraising campaigns and promotions, and corporate grants.
  • Conduct research and outreach to identify prospective corporate partners aligned with Vermont Foodbank’s mission and values.
  • Collaborate with Retail Food Sourcing and Volunteer Services to cultivate, steward, and ensure coordination on engagement with corporate donors.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure that messaging and branding aligns with Vermont Foodbank practices and values, and to facilitate cohesive donor experiences and stewardship and recognition, including logo placements, social media engagement, event signage, and co-branded materials.
  • Manage corporate grants, including prospecting, proposal development, submission, reporting, and stewardship, in close coordination and partnership with the Senior Manager of Grants and Director of Strategic Giving.
  • Track all touchpoints, proposals, commitments, and stewardship actions using Raiser’s Edge.
  • Use data to track progress against revenue goals, identify trends, and measure impact of specific corporate activations or campaigns.
  • Contribute to annual goal-setting and quarterly performance reporting for corporate giving and engagement programs.
  • Positively contribute to an organizational culture of safe and secure food handling, warehousing and distribution.
  • The foodbank relies on volunteers everyday to fulfill our mission. All Foodbank employees must support our culture of philanthropy by treating every volunteer with appreciation and respect.
  • This position will occasionally be required to travel to other Foodbank locations and to attend required meetings, trainings, etc. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.


Other Functions:

  • Assist in developing annual department plan and budget in conjunction with team.
  • Participate in management-level meetings and planning sessions and attend Board meetings when requested. 
  • Participate in internal committees and workgroups as required. 
  • Occasionally assist with special events alongside other staff. 
  • In instances of a federal, state or locally declared emergency, Vermont Foodbank is typically considered an essential service and emergency responder; all of its employees may be called in to perform regular or emergent duties.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Strategic Giving.


Skills/Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required.
  • 4+ years of experience in corporate fundraising OR business relationship management or sales.
  • Proven success in relationship-based fundraising OR account management.


Technical/Computer Skills:

  • Must have strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, teleconferencing applications, and familiarity with database management. Must have the ability to quickly learn new software applications and systems per the needs of the organization and Philanthropy Team.
  • Experience with Blackbaud’s Raiser's Edge strongly preferred.

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:

  • A valid Vermont Driver’s License.
  • 3-year motor vehicle report (MVR) showing a clean driving record.
