PLZ Corp Quality Control Lab Technician has a diverse set of responsibilities and duties. PLZ Corp operates under a Quality Management System (QMS) and the stated quality policy is: PLZ Corp produces quality units, on time. Everything the group does supports the QMS and quality policy, and all functions are governed by a set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions. All forms and records are properly maintained according to Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
3rd Shift 9pm - 530am- work days Sunday - Thursday
Duties and Responsibilities: Duties may change daily
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Follow SOP’s and/or Work Instructions
- Communicate quality back to management, and QC management.
- Notifies management of any major discrepancies
- Follow established safety rules and regulations
- Other specific duties as requested by management
- Available and willing to work overtime as needed in immediate area or in other areas of the company.
- Manage the Micro testing samplings, including sending out the samples to the Lab and maintaining the micro log.

- Communicate production approvals to the management team.
- Sending out samples for customer approvals.
- Managing the release for the testing holds
- Creates a positive culture in words/actions to increase respect/teamwork throughout the company.
- Request and/or initiate corrective actions to identify cause and eliminate future non-conformance.
- Assist with the development, implementation, maintenance and documentation of QC Inspection Procedures and Records.
- Support Quality Lab Manager in ensuring the calibration of laboratory measurement devices, suitability of test standards, and monitoring of instrument condition.
- Assist in performing and coordinating the calibration of all Laboratory equipment including those actions performed by Third Parties.
- Create, maintain and retain calibration documents and records for lab equipment, and forward to Document Control.
- Assist in procurement of lab materials and supplies, management of laboratory and chemical inventories to meet quality system, customer and industry standards.
- Identify, document, and maintain records on blend nonconformance; and communicate any corrective action needs to the Quality Manager for review.
- Prepare Certificate of Analysis’ for customers, as required.
- Authorize the release of Packaging Work Orders and supporting product information, used in the manufacture of finished goods.
- Assist in managing the fluid retain system.
- Perform and document laboratory product research and development, assigned.
- Utilize and practice Risk Management Concepts and PDCA Techniques.
- Participate in the identification and continual improvement of organizational processes.
- Support company policies, rules, procedures and safety practices.
Qualifications:
- HS diploma or GED required. Some college or technical schooling preferred
- Quality Lab experience
- Experience handling hazardous materials
- Good math and basic computer skills
- Good mechanical aptitude and able to troubleshoot
- Team player with a 'can-do' attitude
