We’re looking for a Revenue Tax Specialist to join our Office of Charitable Gaming! 

This Revenue Tax Specialist will review quarterly reports of all licensed charitable gaming organizations to ensure compliance with legislative and administrative rules.

Position Duties

Six semester hours in accounting, business, economics, finance, management, information systems management, or quantitative methods plus one of the following:

Three years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR

A bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties:

In this role, you will:

  • Perform in-house desk audits of progressive participants and charitable gaming organizations financial reports on a quarterly basis.
  • Reports are reviewed for completeness, accuracy and compliance with charitable gaming laws and administrative rules.
  • Ensure all information is accurate and properly recorded.
  • Examine and audit quarterly inventory of gaming supplies and price structures. 
  • Refer licensees with consistent reporting problems to Revenue Auditors for field audit. 
  • Review and audit in-house financial reporting before licensing or relicensing to ensure that all organizations are up-to-date in their reporting requirements.

Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, Job Appointment, Detail to Special Duty or WAE

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Revenue Tax Specialist 1 or 2.

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
