Position overview
KIPP NorCal is seeking a dedicated and organized Human Resources Associate to join our team. In this entry-level role, you will be a key player in supporting our regional office and school sites, ensuring our staff have a positive and seamless employee experience. You will be responsible for a wide range of HR functions, from onboarding and employee data management to benefits administration and compliance. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about people and wants to grow their career in human resources.
Required Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to provide outstanding customer service, foster strong professional relationships, and manage partnerships effectively
  • Self-starter and adaptive learner; works well independently and collaboratively with others
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Google Suite
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in an HR or administrative support role.
  • Experience with HRIS software (e.g., UKG, Workday, ADP).

Essential responsibilities
  • Onboarding and Offboarding: Manage the full cycle of the employee experience, including the onboarding of new hires and the offboarding of departing staff.
  • Benefits Administration: Assist with the administration of all employee benefits, ensuring staff are enrolled correctly and have their questions answered.
  • HRIS and Data Management: Maintain and audit employee data in our Human Resources Information System (UKG), ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Assist with the preparation of compliance reports and ensure all HR practices align with federal and state regulations.
  • Employee Support: Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Other Duties as assigned. 

 

Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands

 

Physical: Ability to navigate office and school campuses, and hold meetings in different spaces. Traditionally, much of the day involves sitting. Ability to access and utilize technology. Occasional lifting/carrying of equipment 1-20 lbs. Physical agility to move self in various positions in order to execute duties effectively, which may include kneeling, walking, pushing/pulling, squatting, twisting, turning, bending, stooping and reaching overhead

 

Mental: Stress of deadlines and normal work standards, ability to analyze problems and generate alternatives, work with interruptions, concentrate for long periods of time, read, calculate, perform routine math problems, memorize and recall objects and people.

 

Environmental: Office  environment subject to constant interruptions and distractions. Occasional school environment and travel as needed. KIPP adheres to health and safety guidelines as outlined by the CDC, CDE, and public health agencies’ recommendations.

This is a full-time non-exempt position based on a full year calendar cycle based out of our Regional Support Office with

 

The KIPP Regional Support Office operates in a hybrid environment. Most positions can expect to work in person 3 days per week and remotely the remaining days, subject to change based on the needs of the role.

 

Must possess a valid California driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation for work-related travel.

Compensation
KIPP Northern California is dedicated to you and your family's well-being! We offer a competitive salary as well as a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and transportation benefits.
We benchmark annually against comparably-sized non-profit organizations in the regions where we operate, to offer competitive salaries. The hourly rate for this position will be between $32.69 and $38.46. Most candidates would be compensated at $34.62 per hour.
