About the opportunity

The Human Resources Partnering function is in a period of significant development, striving to achieve an integrated service offering aligned with the University’s ambitious workforce strategy and organisational design objectives.  As a result, we are seeking a consultative HR Partner to support key clients and leaders within the universities central portfolios.   

As a trusted advisor, you will provide strategic advice and direction, translate strategy into operational goals and shape how Human Resources (HR) services are provided to clients. Developing a robust understanding of your client’s business, you will effectively address their HR needs and requirements.

Your key responsibilities will be to

  • provide comprehensive advice based on a thorough understanding of the client group dynamics, addressing essential people management needs and challenges

  • drive the evolution and alignment of HR policies and practices, ensuring both current and emerging practices effectively support the client portfolio's strategic direction 

  • lead holistic HR projects and initiatives, leveraging best practice systems and approaches to deliver tailored, integrated solutions that achieve desired business outcomes

  • liaise with cross-functional teams, senior management, and key stakeholders, championing stakeholder engagement strategies to drive collaborative initiatives and uphold the work areas objectives

  • provide subject matter-specific data analysis, insights, and reports in relation to the delivery of HR projects and solutions.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or an equivalent combination of training and experience 

  • proven generalist HR experience, preferably in a business partner or advisory role

  • proven experience in developing strong trusted relationships with stakeholders

  • experience interpreting and providing advice on enterprise agreements, awards and relevant policies

  • ability to work within a COE model in a large complex organisation coupled with a collaborative approach

  • an agile solutions-orientated approach coupled with the ability to coach and empower leaders to make people decisions.
