Job Summary: The assembler position is responsible for properly crafting Gridiron brand custom storage components and other products for the use and installation on trailers and mowers, typically serving the landscaping industry.
Essential Functions
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Assemble custom storage product, ensuring the functionality and quality of the final assembly.
- Organize assemblies and components to create kits of hardware for use in the assembly of storage components and packages for sale.
- Place brand related and instructional stickers and decals on products.
- Inspect visually each product to ensure quality standard are achieved.
- Use tools (such as tape gun, drill, and impact) regularly for assembly and inspection of component.
- Place plastic sheet (UHMW material / 24”x16”) into heat press to shape set.
- Use forklift to move skids of material from shelving units to production area.
- Assist in other areas and perform other duties, as needed. (This is not intended to be a comprehensive list of activities, duties, or responsibilities required for this job.)
Qualifications and Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred or other equivalent and relevant demonstrated skills and experience.
- Ability to be energetic and focused while working in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and quality.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Must be able to read and interpret work orders including product numbers and product lists.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to maintain safety while working effectively and efficiently.
- Must be able to wear all required PPE for the position, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, face shield, steel toe footwear, knee pads, gloves.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear and have the ability to grasp and assemble parts and components that are often very small.
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
