Work Schedule
5 hours a week, Tu: 10-3, Th: 10-3, F: 10-3, other times as needed.

Required Qualifications
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills as evidenced by application materials
- Must be available to work at least four hours a week Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday between 10AM-3PM
- Must be able to pass background check

$12.00 per hour

Position Overview
Spencer Student Ambassadors share enthusiasm for art and ideas with kindergarten through fifth grader visitors to the Spencer Museum of Art as well as fellow KU students. Students will attend museum guide training and work alongside museum staff to facilitate museum tours for elementary students and plan outreach activities for KU students.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide support to the SMA Education team.
- Guide and facilitate tours for visiting kindergarten through fifth grade students.
- Attend and participate in ambassador training to learn about the Spencer Museum of Art collections and tour facilitate techniques.
- Provide hands-on assistance in other outreach activities as needed.

Position Requirements
During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or be enrolled in summer session or be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments)
Employment Conditions
(1) Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR.
(2) This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
