Position Overview

As a School-Based Therapist, you will provide individual therapy to students during the school day and work closely with school staff, families, and community partners to ensure holistic, effective care. You’ll use evidence-based practices to help students overcome challenges and develop resilience—right where they need it most.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide high-quality, compassionate, and ethical therapy to students in a school setting
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practices
  • Complete all required documentation (assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, etc.) in accordance with COMAR and CRMHS policies
  • Ensure service authorizations are in place to support proper billing and payment
  • Refer students to outside or complementary services as needed
  • Maintain strict confidentiality per HIPAA and state law
  • Achieve and maintain required billable service hours with a client-responsive schedule
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with school staff, families, and clinic team members
  • Attend team meetings, clinical supervision, and required trainings
  • Stay in good standing with licensing board and insurance requirements

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in a mental health-related field
  • Maryland licensure (LMSW, LGPC, LCSW, LCSW-C, LCPC, or LMFT) OR
  • Candidates nearing licensure exam eligibility are encouraged to apply
  • Professional liability insurance required
  • Commitment to inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally competent care
  • Strong documentation and time management skills
  • Comfortable working independently in a school environment and as part of a broader team
