Description
Supporting our manufacturing operations through troubleshooting, panel fabrication, and control system optimization. In this role, you’ll collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to diagnose and resolve electrical and automation issues, build and install custom control panels, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance production efficiency and equipment reliability.
Troubleshooting & Support:
- Work alongside maintenance teams to troubleshoot and repair electrical and control system issues in real-time.
- Provide support for PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and safety devices.
- Assist in updating and maintaining electrical and control documentation (schematics, wiring diagrams, PLC programs).
Electrical Panel Fabrication & Installation:
- Build and wire custom electrical control panels from schematics and layout drawings.
- Install control panels and integrate them with machinery and production equipment.
- Test panel functionality and troubleshoot as needed prior to deployment.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for improving equipment performance, reliability and safety.
- Assist engineers in implementing automation upgrades and optimization projects.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate records of wiring changes, modifications, and system configurations.
- Contribute to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new and existing control systems.

Performance in this position is evaluated objectively by the Engineering Site Leader through the successful and timely execution of control system upgrades, troubleshooting efforts, and automation improvements that measurably enhance manufacturing reliability, efficiency, and safety within the plant.

Materials, Tools
and Equipment Used: Automobile, hands tools and powered tools like drills, saws, and electrical troubleshooting equipment such as a Multimeter. Office equipment to include but not be limited to personal computer, printer, office paging equipment, facsimile machine, and copy machine. When in Production areas, required safety equipment includes hard-hat, steel toe boots, industrial safety glasses, hearing protection, work gloves, and respirator.
Requirements
PLC programming on Allen-Bradley product lines, including Studio 5000, RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5, Connected Components, and Factorytalk View Studio. Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and control systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Proficiency with hand tools, multimeters, and basic electrical testing equipment.Preferred qualifications include Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical). 2+ years of experience building and wiring electrical panels or working in a similar industrial controls/automation environment. Basic understanding of process control principles and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma). Familiarity with machine safety standards and practices (e.g., NFPA 70E, ISO 13849).
