First Choice Health Centers is seeking a compassionate and organized School Based Dental Care Coordinator to join our mission driven team. In this role, you'll play a vital part in bringing preventive dental care directly to students in local schools - helping eliminate barriers to oral health and improving lifelong outcomes for children in the local communities of East Hartford and surrounding towns.
*This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling at 16 hours per week (no weekends or evenings).

- The annual pay range for this position is $17.75 - $22.00/hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, certifications, etc.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Associate's degree in public health, Social Work, Nursing, Education or related field preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities while remaining professional and calm.
- Ability to work with many diverse people, including children and teenagers.
- Effective telephone skills and professional and courteous customer service
Experience and Training:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a school, health care or community-based setting (preferred)
- Experience working with children, adolescents and families from diverse backgrounds
Standard Job Duties:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the health center and school personnel arranging for dental care within the school and/or on the mobile dental van.
- Coordinate logistics for on-site or on mobile unit for dental services, including scheduling of providers and student appointments and delivery and pickup of required registration packets from participating schools.
- Manage student enrollment in school-based dental program, including distributing and collection of registration packets and consent forms ensuring all documentation is complete and up to date.
- Create dental visits for all eligible students in center electronic health record system, including upload of registration documents and applicable consent forms.
- Verify patient insurance and update sliding discount eligibility for patients, as needed.
- Update and correct patient information, including, but not limited to: insurance status, income, demographic information, address, email, telephone number, patient photo and insurance.
- Attend and participate in school meetings, community health fairs, and other community activities, as required.
- Support culturally appropriate and language-accessible communication to engage diverse student populations.
- Order necessary supplies for Mobile Dental Unit.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with HIPAA regulations and Center policy.
- Maintain strong relationships with school administration, school nurse, school health related staff, and teachers.
