What You Will Do

As the Kids Ministry Director - Brownsburg you are an integral member of the Brownsburg location team. The Brownsburg Kids Director provides leadership and hands-on management for the CP Kids Team, overseeing environments from birth through 5th grade. As a player-coach, this leader develops staff and volunteers while actively participating in the planning and execution of weekend ministry. The role ensures every child encounters a safe, engaging, and Christ-centered environment aligned with Connection Pointe’s vision to raise the strongest generation in faith.

How You’ll Succeed

Staff Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, develop, and care for the Kids Ministry staff team (including full-time, part-time, and resident/intern roles).
  • Provide clear direction, coaching, and regular performance feedback for team members.
  • Cultivate a healthy team culture marked by collaboration, accountability, and spiritual growth.
  • Lead weekly staff meetings, one-on-ones, and regular team development opportunities.

Vision & Strategy:

  • Partner with the Location Pastor to cast vision and set direction for the Brownsburg Kids Ministry, in alignment with the overall mission of the church.
  • Translate church-wide goals into clear and actionable plans for the CP Kids Brownsburg team.
  • Oversee the implementation, evaluation, and improvements of curriculum, worship experiences, large group teaching, parent resources, and local CP Kids events.
  • Ensure consistency and excellence across all age groups and ministry environments.

 

Volunteer Team Oversight:

  • Ensure that robust volunteer systems are in place, including recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and care.
  • Support staff in leading high-capacity volunteer Hybrids and coaches.
  • Create a leadership pipeline to raise up volunteers into greater levels of ownership and impact.

 

Operations & Systems:

  • Oversee ministry scheduling, classroom ratios, check-in systems, and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with facility and campus teams to ensure environments are clean, welcoming, and well-equipped.
  • Work within established budgets, approve expenditures, and steward resources with excellence.
  • Leverage tools such as Planning Center, ProPresenter, Amazing Kids, Monday.com, Microsoft suite, and other systems for communication, coordination, and implementation.

 

Family Discipleship & Engagement:

  • Support staff in building intentional relationships with families and empowering parents as the primary faith leaders of their children.
  • Execute on events and communications for families to fulfill their role with their children.

 

Collaboration & Church Involvement:

  • Partner with Student Ministry and other Next Gen leaders for smooth transitions and alignment.
  • Participate in all-staff events, leadership gatherings, and the implementation of churchwide initiatives.
  • Serve as an advocate for kids and families at the broader church leadership table.
  • Respond to emails and phone calls within 24 hours of being in the office.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
  • Strive to improve personal and professional skills by looking for and participating in learning opportunities.
  • Attend a weekly service to stay in tune with the direction of Connection Pointe and to continue developing spiritually.


What We Are Looking For

  • Deep and growing relationship with Jesus Christ; demonstrated spiritual maturity and integrity.
  • 5+ years of experience in kids/family ministry leadership.
  • Proven experience leading and developing staff and large volunteer teams.
  • Strong communication, team-building, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day operations.
  • Comfortable using or learning digital tools and ministry systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in ministry, education, or related field preferred.

Where You’ll Be

You will primarily be in an office environment primarily on a computer for prolonged periods of time. Physical demands mainly include, walking, climbing stairs, sitting or standing for long periods of time and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.

Schedule:

Full-time, including Thursday evenings, Sundays and other occasional evenings/weekends.  (Friday & Saturday is the CP weekend.)

Flexibility for staff meetings, events, and family engagement opportunities.

Where You’ll Go

As a team, we are going into the world daily! This position may also occasionally require some overnight travel for retreats and conferences. Overall, the travel requirement for this position is <25%.
