The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD (“The HARRIS CENTER”) is looking for a LPHA (Licensed Practitioner of Healing Arts) for our Forensics Evaluations & Assessment unit. LPHA performs clinical activities such as independent assessments – Justice, Equality, Humanity & Tolerance
Screenings (JEHTS) - of identified juveniles need(s). This positions interfaces with the on-site Evaluations team. This position may provide assessment of crisis needs, monitoring, and clinical services.
Your role in action:
- Performs clinical assessments to evaluate the youth/juvenile eligibility and treatment needs.
- Assess individuals that may require crisis interventions leading to reduce symptoms and prevent admission to a more restrictive environment, if applicable.
- Performs activities to assist consumers in gaining and coordinating access to necessary care and services based on individual needs.
- Advocates for consumers to ensure that needs are met both within the Harris Center’s system and in the community.
- Communicates and works with consumers/visitors/other staff in a manner that demonstrates knowledge of cultural diversities.
- Completes reporting/training as designated in an accurate and timely manner.
- Demonstrates ethical conduct in all clinical and professional activities.
- Performs related work as assigned. Adapts to changing work requirements.
- Complies with agency policies and procedures, accrediting/regulatory bodies and performance contract documentation requirements.
- Other related Job Duties as assigned

What qualifications will you need:
Education:
- Master’s degree (M.A.) from four-year accredited college or university with a major in a social, behavioral, or human service field, including but not limited to: psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human development, gerontology, and educational psychology.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage Family Therapist(LMFT) or Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) .
Experience:
- Must have 2 years clinical experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of local community resources.
- Strong diagnostic skills, the ability to incorporate patient history, symptoms, environmental and related issues to formulate proper diagnosis and treatment.
- Strong communication skills, listening and interpersonal skills above average, written documentation is clear, concise, and well-constructed.
- Able to work collaboratively with others.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Able to execute standard word processing software on the computer.
