Director of Business Development

Job Description

The Director of Business Development will drive growth and expand our company’s market presence. This leadership role involves developing and executing a comprehensive business development strategy, identifying new business opportunities, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, and collaborating closely with internal teams to support the company’s revenue goals. The Director of Business Development will have a proven track record of success in business growth and the ability to leverage industry insights to identify new market potential.

A successful candidate must be able to:

  • Develop and implement a robust business development strategy to increase company revenue, market share, and partnerships.

  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize new business opportunities to expand the company’s client base and geographic reach.

  • Build and nurture relationships with potential clients, partners, and industry leaders.

  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to stay informed on industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.

  • Collaborate closely with marketing, sales, and product teams to align business development strategies with organizational goals.

  • Negotiate and finalize contracts, proposals, and agreements with new partners and clients.

  • Set and monitor KPIs for business growth, regularly reporting on progress to senior leadership.

  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to elevate brand visibility.

  • Lead and mentor a team, fostering a high-performance culture that supports innovation and accountability.

  • Travel frequently to meet with clients, and partners, and attend industry events as needed.

  • All other duties assigned.

A successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical abilities with experience in market research and data-driven decision-making.

  • Knowledge of CRM software and business development tools.

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, drive results, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.

  • Proven track record of successfully growing revenue and building strategic partnerships.
