Maintenance Technician - BioFuels Facility
Reports To: Maintenance Manager - BioFuels Facility
Shift: 7 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, with a scheduled on-call rotation for evenings and weekends
Primary Job Objective:
To ensure the safe and continuous operations of facilities through preventive and predictive maintenance, as well as in unexpected situations at PureField Ingredients.

Essential Functions
- Receive daily tasks from the Maintenance Supervisor
- Walk through the plant and check equipment to detect possible malfunctions or problems with production equipment
- Grease wet cake mixing screw, dryer bearings, and conveyor hanger
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as instructed by the Maintenance Supervisor
- Clean shop floors and benches
- Ensure centrifuge bearings and vibration stay within safe limits
- Perform maintenance on the service dryer
- Grease hammer mill bearings
- Grease-induced draft fan bearings
- Stock parts and organize the warehouse
- Blowout filters or centrifuge cabinets
- Inspect the grain cleaner and tighten the chain to prevent wear and damage
- Inspect bucket elevators to prevent damage to the conveyor and lost buckets
- Rebuild heat exchangers as needed
- Weekend shift walk-through of the boiler blowdown and fill salt
- Hole watch to create a safe workplace
- Attend monthly safety meetings
- Repack hammer mill bearings as needed
- Repack ID fan bearings as needed
- Change the motor control center air filters
- Inspect and clean the bowl of the centrifuge
- Change ethanol load out filters
- Replace the hammer sets of the grinding mills
- When ethanol laboratory technicians are not on shift, run water chemistry tests on tower and boiler samples to maintain proper chemical balances in boilers
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
- Weld the drain pipes
- Grease bearings on the exhaust fan, tighten belts to prolong fan life, and eliminate excessive noise
- Change buckets on the grain elevator
- Change gaskets on top of fermentation tanks
- Replace burnt-out light bulbs with new ones
- Change belts on the exhaust fan as needed
- Additional duties, as assigned
Nature and Scope:
The Ethanol Maintenance Personnel reports directly to the Ethanol Maintenance Manager, and indirectly reports to the Plant Manager. Will receive work instructions and direction from key members of operations.

Minimum Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of general machinery maintenance
- Communication, analytical, and documentation skills are a must
- Physical ability to perform the functions of the position

The employee may be required to lift up to 50 lbs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is required to sit, stand, walk, climb and bend. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Specific hearing abilities are required.
Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
Hard hats and protective eyewear are required within and around processing facilities. Hearing protection is required in areas where levels exceed 85 db. Uniform provided by PureField. Steel-toe leather boots. Additional PPE is required when handling hazardous chemicals and in certain areas of the facilities. Maintenance personnel must be clean-shaven to be fit and wear a respirator.

- Must pass random drug screening tests
- Must be 18 years of age or older
