In partnership with UM Charles Regional Medical Center, MedQuest Imaging is looking for a dedicated Radiology Assistant to join our medical team. This position is responsible for coverage a minimum 3 days per week in our LaPlata, MD outpatient imaging center.
The Radiology Assistant will be responsible for preparing and positioning patients for radiological procedures, operating radiographic equipment, and assisting radiologists during procedures.
The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of patient care, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and radiation safety procedures.
Ultimately, the Radiology Assistant will provide valuable support to the radiology department, ensuring high-quality patient care and smooth departmental operations.

Contract start date - Immediately
Contract end date - December 2025
Compensation - ranges from $115.00-$130.00 per hour (exact hourly rate will be dependent upon experience)
Responsibilities:- Conduct and document comprehensive patient histories and physical assessments relevant to imaging procedures.
- Obtain informed consent and explain procedures to patients.
- Perform radiologic procedures such as fluoroscopy under supervision.
- Assist radiologists in interventional and diagnostic imaging procedures including arthrograms, lumbar punctures, joint aspirations, and PICC line placements.
- Administer contrast agents under the direct or remote supervision of a radiologist.
- Provide real-time monitoring and communication during contrast administration when the radiologist is remote, including observation for adverse reactions and immediate escalation protocols.
- Evaluate image quality and provide preliminary observations to the supervising radiologist.
- Document procedure details and support patient follow-up and post-procedure care instructions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
- Master’s degree from an accredited RA program
- ARRT-certified Radiologic Technologist (RT(R))
- Completion of an accredited Radiologist Assistant (RA) program ARRT RRA Certification
- Current state licensure as required (Maryland RRA license)
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and procedural skills
