Graduate Maintenance Engineer – Hespin Wood, Carlisle

Salary: £30,500 per annum

37.5 hours per week – Mon-Fri - 0800-1600

A quick look at the role:

This role encompasses working alongside an experienced team of Maintenance Technicians providing diagnosis, and carrying out repairs to reduce plant downtime fostering a mentality of proactive maintenance and upkeep of site assets

Safety is our number one priority, so carrying out maintenance in a safe and secure manner is an integral part of this role. We do this by ensuring H&S standards are strictly maintained and all related documentation is completed.

There also may be some travel involved within this role.

Your core responsibilities:

  • Carrying out plant upgrades and modifications to the required standards
  • Reporting, through computerised maintenance management system, all work carried out
  • Further enhance the schedule of planned preventative maintenance and inspection to minimise downtime, provide records of recurrent faulting and engineered solutions to these issues
  • To be available for planned maintenance shutdown periods (reasonable notice will be given)
  • Implement and contribute to continuous improvement opportunities
  • Support the engineering function with Root Cause Analysis and Mean Time Between Failures
  • Implementing and ensuring compliance with all company policies, processes and procedures
  • Liaising with external contractors on specific repairs/maintenance, including some weekend working

 

Essential criteria:

  • A degree in Engineering (electrical or mechanical)
  • An understanding of manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Willingness to travel
