The Extension Educators Coordinator 2 will work in the Lucas County Extension office and report to an Extension Educators Manager-EFNEP within their region. 

The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP), delivered by Ohio State University Extension, seeks an Extension Educators Coordinator 2 to teach nutrition and other nutrition-related topics to low-income youth and parents or caregivers of youth in a variety of community settings. 

This is a grant funded position which is renewable by the sponsor agency and by OSU Extension.

This position is hands-on and works directly with the public, with job responsibilities that include work on-site at the office and in the community. The educator will be engaged in programming with a particular focus on food resource management practices with diverse audiences. General duties include recruitment of program participants through community networking, teaching a standardized curriculum, conducting surveys to assess participant knowledge and behaviors, and attending professional development opportunities. 

Job Responsibilities include:

TEACHING- Using provided Ohio EFNEP curriculum and/or teaching materials to teach nutrition, physical activity, food safety, preparing meals on a budget, and accessing food.  Teach low-income families with children, and school aged youth. EFNEP classes are taught in groups at community settings like community centers, job training programs, homeless shelters, recovery sites, and pregnant and parenting adults and teen programs, schools, and other youth programs.

RECORDS MANAGEMENT- Maintain correct and complete records for all activities. Use EFNEP surveys to assess program participants’ knowledge, skills, and behaviors. Maintain confidentiality of participants and individual records.

OUTREACH AND ENGAGEMENT- Recruit low income youth and/or adult groups by connecting with community agencies, organizations, and schools.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT- Attend meetings and trainings at the local, regional, and state levels as required. Implement changes as required by the sponsoring agency and by OSU Extension.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be preferred. 1 year of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.

The pay range for this job profile is $15.86 - $20.74 hourly.  The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
