MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Responsible for administering book of business, including completion of internal administrative reviews, working with business partners, following Bank policies and procedures, and meeting the Bank’s client service standards.
  • Engages with other lines of business within Bank to fully serve clients’ financial needs.
  • Participates in required annual administrative reviews of accounts. 
  • Fiduciary account guidance and expertise: 
  • Review Bank’s fiduciary acceptance of new irrevocable trust accounts and estates. 
  • Review administrative matters regarding trust and estate administration, including, but not limited to, death of a beneficiary, account termination, unitrust calculations, or court action. 
  • Completes document reviews for trust and estate accounts, including amendments and restatements, nonjudicial settlement agreements, decanting trusts, and court modifications.
  • Periodically works with outside trust counsel on trust and estate matters. 
  • Serves as a voting member of Trust Administration Committee (TAC) reviewing discretionary actions where Bank is serving as a trustee. 
  • Knowledge of applicable state laws, rules, and regulations, including relevant tax and banking rules and regulations. Assists with business development opportunities specific to trust and estate settlement.

                In accordance with Bank’s policies and procedures, as well as applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations:

  • Review and approval of new trust and estate accounts.
  • Provide advice and guidance on trust and estate matters.
  • Strong judgment and ethical standards are needed to make independent decisions.
  • Team focus working with Wealth Management colleagues, partners, and senior leaders to build relationships, provide support, and help to move business forward. 
  • Strengthens and reinforces CTC’s role as trusted advisor providing client-centered advice and guidance. 

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Wealth Management, Estate Planning, and/or Trust and Estate Administration. 
  • High ethical standards and excellent judgment
  • Excellent organization, communication, and client service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, juggle a variety of tasks, operate independently, pay attention to detail, and interact with staff at all levels.
  • Positive attitude, team player, and willingness to accept new assignments and pitch-in.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as a member of a larger team.
  • Valid driver’s license.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in pre-law, business, finance, or equivalent education.
  • Bachelor and Law Degrees required.
  •  Certified Trust & Financial Advisor (CTFA) and/or Trust School desirable but not required.

 

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Licensed to practice in at least one state, New Hampshire, Maine, and/or Massachusetts 
  • Strong computer skills, including office software such as word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. The employee frequently is required to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer. The employee is occasionally required to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. They also operate motor vehicles and travel to locations outside of the facility, to attend meetings, trainings, events, and other client business activities. The employee occasionally positions self to maintain or access files in file cabinets. The employee must have the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The must have near visual acuity for working on a computer, far visual acuity, and peripheral vision necessary for driving a motor vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move boxes or equipment up to 20 pounds across office or while traveling to clients for various needs.

  • Hybrid role – expected in Manchester, NH and/or Portsmouth, NH office at least 3 days per week when not meeting with clients and centers of influence.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable motor vehicle are required. 
  • Persons holding this position are subject to inside environmental conditions having the lighting, temperature, and noise level of an open floor-plan office environment (moderate, but occasionally loud at times). 
  • The employee may occasionally be outdoors and exposed to hot or cold weather, and wet and/or humid conditions. 
  • The employees in this role will be required to travel to other locations, e.g., client or prospect locations. 
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
