Job Description
UNCLE Credit Union is seeking a FINANCIAL CONSULTANT to join a dynamic and growing organization who will be responsible for member on-boarding, educating new and existing members of the various products and services that are offered at the credit union. Attain and maintain current knowledge of credit union products, policies, procedures and promotions. Determine the individual needs of our members and cross-sell products and services accordingly. In conjunction with branch manager, coach and assist staff to meet or exceed individual and branch production/sales goals. Within established guidelines, open new accounts and process loan applications. Assist branch manager with coordinating and participating in community activities to generate sales and further deepen UNCLE Credit Union’s relationships within the communities we serve. Represent the credit union at community functions, including luncheons/benefit fairs, and support business development efforts as needed.
Essential Job Functions:

- Provide exceptional and friendly service externally and internally.
- Provide members, employees and other business contacts with timely and accurate information.
- Conduct financial profiles of our members in order to probe for service needs and use a method of follow up to maintain contact with new and existing members.
- Act as a resource for frontline staff regarding New Accounts, Loans and IRA’s.
- Meet or exceed established sales and other production goals.
- Assist manager in coaching staff to meet established individual and branch sales and service goals.
- Act in operational supervisory capacity in the absence of the Branch Manager
- Open new accounts including Living Trust, Gift to Minor, Block Trust, IRA’s, CD’s, Money Market accounts, etc.
- Accept and input loan applications.
- Act in capacity of loan interviewer.
- Assess the needs of members and offer suitable products and services.
- Review member credit reports for potential new business such as credit card balance transfers, auto loan refinance, etc.
- Respond to member inquiries on loan application status, approvals, denials, etc.
- Refer members as appropriate to our service partners for Mortgage and Investment products and services.
- Act in capacity of a notary within the policies and procedure guidelines.
- Represent UNCLE professionally in the community and to potential members by participating in business development and community involvement as determined by branch needs.
- Provide branch manager with input and ideas to maintain an active sales culture.

- Knowledge of: General office practices and procedures, Credit union philosophy and understanding of terminology; MS Word; Written communication format, business English and composition.
- Skill in: Operating personal computer and office equipment such as calculator, copy machine, facsimile machine, postage scale, typewriter, and telephone system.
- Ability to: Accurately input and retrieve data from the computer; Maintain confidentiality of classified information; Assess and discuss openly with members, the financial services best suited for their needs.
Education and Experience:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a financial institution, including experience with opening loans and new accounts.
- Must have strong sales skills and ability to demonstrate sounds written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills and measurable leadership abilities to motivate others.
Pay:
$22-23.50/hr. DOE
