Who We Are Looking For: 

The Director of Accounting is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, with an emphasis in Accounts Payable,  Payroll and Commissions reporting, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and leading a small team. This role plays a critical part in developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies.

 

What you will be doing as a Director of Accounting:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll.
  • Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting for above areas.
  • Prepare internal and external financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Manage and develop accounting staff through hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and policies.
  • Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with FP&A and senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Monitor cash flow, and banking relationships.
  • Evaluate and implement financial systems and technology improvements to drive efficiency.

 

 

Required education, technical skills, and/or experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
  • 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven leadership and team development abilities.

 

 

Preferred education, technical skills, and/or experience: 

  • Experience in VAR environment (Value Added Reseller)
  • CPA accreditation
  • Experience in organizations of at least $300M in top line revenue

 

 

TRAVEL:

Travel is occasionally required for this position. Must have a valid driver’s license and motor vehicle insurance.
