Wage Range: $75,000 - $82,000

JOB SUMMARY
Provides leadership to the Safety Associate team in Catholic Charities buildings and grounds, serving as the primary hiring manager and managing the onboarding, training, and deployment of all Safety Associates. Responds to the needs of the tenants, clients, guests, volunteers, and staff and provides excellent customer service by interacting using and modeling trauma informed best practices during every interaction. Works with the Director of Safety, the Manager of Safety to help teams at Catholic Charities sites develop Safety, Security and Emergency Preparedness Plans and works proactively to prevent incidents on Catholic Charities property. Will be involved in high-risk situations and may be asked to respond to de-escalate customers, tenants, and guests. The Security Manager will work at least one non-day shift (more when needed for coverage) per campus per month working at least a portion of each shift each quarter.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manages the hiring, onboarding, and scheduling of all Safety Associates, filling unfilled shifts as needed to provide full coverage for programs.
- Provides regular training and supervision to all Safety Associates and works with HR to address performance issues involving the Safety Team a timely fashion.
- Works with the Director Safety and others to train all Safety Team members in appropriate interpersonal skills, trauma informed practices and verbal de-escalation techniques.
- Works with Director of Safety to train all Safety team members and other appropriate staff in the use of “advanced physical skills” to contain and disengage from physical violence.
- Works with the Director of Safety and Chief Accountability Officer to ensure that all safety team members and all Catholic Charities staff and sites are properly equipped with essential safety gear (e.g., radios, Narcan kits, first aid supplies, etc.)
- Works with the Director of Safety and Program Leads to review agency safety, security, and emergency protocols, policies, and procedures to ensure they are up to date and that programs follow Federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Develops strong partnerships with Program Managers, unit supervisors, and frontline staff, and assists them in developing site/program-specific safety and security plans that meet their evolving needs.
- With Director of Safety and other Senior Agency Leaders, forms and supports meaningful relationships with community partners including City and County law enforcement agencies and safety teams of neighboring businesses and organizations.
- Acts as primary point of contact for law enforcement or emergency responders coming on site.
- Processes requests from law enforcement or other outside agencies for camera footage; coordinates all requests according to Catholic Charities standard policies.
- Acts on behalf of or represents the Agency’s Director of Safety, Security, and Emergency Preparedness in the Director’s absence.

QUALIFICATIONS/TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical or advanced degree in related field preferred.
- Three years customer service and security experience required.
- Two years shelter/outreach experience preferred.
- Two years access control and camera system experience required. Understanding of database management preferred.
- Experience with scheduling and supervising staff preferred.
- CPI de-escalation and self-defense training preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record that is acceptable to the insurance company required.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Ability to work irregular hours on short notice, including night and holiday shift coverage.
- Required to work with diverse and/or low-income populations, including those who may be experiencing homelessness, unstable housing, and/or mental illness.
