About the Department

We're looking for an expert problem solver to join us in a highly technical role. Your experience should reflect a strong grasp of many (but not necessarily all) of the areas listed below. We value adaptability and curiosity over simply checking boxes. As part of our small team, you'll play a key role in enhancing, repairing, and supporting the County’s critical operational and life/safety systems. Expect to be challenged daily and to have the autonomy to propose, implement, and see the real impact of your work. (The rest of this was written by a bot, so focus on what matters to you.)

Why Join Us?

  • Make a real impact by supporting essential County operations.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team.
  • Opportunity to develop new competencies and grow your IT career!

Position Duties

What You’ll Do:

  • Keep Us Connected: Administer and maintain servers, business and VoIP systems.
  • Support Critical Services: Ensure reliable operation of PCs, printers, IOT, cameras, and other devices.
  • Maintain Security: Oversee and implement security best practices.
  • Be a Tech Hero: Provide prompt, effective technical support to county staff.
  • Grow Your Skills: Adapt to new industry standards and evolving technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience.
  • Strong knowledge of MSFT's Server/AD/Azure/Entra/O365/GPOs.  Currently a hybrid AD environment.
  • Configure, deploy and maintain servers (MSFT & Linux), network devices and other critical infrastructure.
  • Maintain virtual environments using VMware, Proxmox or similar.
  • Scripting/automation w/ Powershell or similar.
  • Perform routine Client/Server maintenance such as OS/3rd party updates, endpoint health monitoring and change/config management.
  • Expert at troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Responsible for documentation in our wiki and creating SOPs.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and work both independently and with a team.

Ready to play a critical role in your community’s technology backbone? Apply today to become our next IT Systems Administrator!
