JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the month-end close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and process improvements. This role requires a deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and execute key aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and adjusting entries.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Prepare timely and accurate internal and external financial reporting, including variance analysis and key schedules for stakeholders and equity partners.
  • Support financial audits and assist with board reporting, investor reporting, and lender requirements as applicable.
  • Drive process improvements and automation within NetSuite ERP, maximizing system capabilities for efficiency and reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls, including those required by equity investors or auditors.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as FP&A, HR, and Operations.
  • Participate in special projects, including system upgrades, process optimization, or acquisitions.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA track preferred).
  • 4–5 years of accounting experience, including experience in equity-owned organizations (private equity or VC-backed).
  • Hands-on NetSuite ERP experience is required, including GL, Fixed Assets, AP/AR, and reporting functions.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and accounting operations in a growth-oriented company.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, etc.).
  • Experience working in multi-entity organizations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with comfort reporting to senior leadership and investors.

Physical Demands

This position is considered to be mostly sedentary and will require the employee to sit for extended periods of time. It will also require the employee to occasionally stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. They may engage in bending, stretching, reaching, and other motions in the course of a working day. They will be engaged in using office equipment and computers. They may engage in lifting supplies and materials up to 20 pounds from time to time. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear. 

 

Working Conditions

This job is located primarily in an indoor office environment with varying noise levels. There may be varying degrees of temperature. The employee may be interrupted from time to time.
