The Site Monitor is responsible for ensuring that the site operates efficiently, orderly, and safely. The Site Monitor demonstrates the ability to work effectively with diverse populations respectfully and professionally. The Site Monitor will establish and maintain positive working relationships with clients, community partners, and staff. The Site Monitor will support and encourage clients to freely advocate for their needs and engage in solution-focused problem-solving and short-term crisis intervention. The Site Monitor will provide services according to LSSSC’s mission to embrace, equip, and empower clients toward self-sufficiency.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities are as follows:
• Facilitate client orientation and check-in processes.
• Ensure clients adhere to the scheduling requirements and contractual agreements.
• Establish a safe environment by conducting facility check-in to observe clients in their designated areas, beds, or PODs.
• Ensure that clients follow all rules and protocols in a calm and orderly manner by addressing violations and redirecting as needed.
• Engage in crisis intervention and de-escalation practices.
• Contact the San Bernardino City Police Department for assistance when appropriate (imminent danger).
• Maintain activities log on a nightly basis. The log must be completed immediately after the service so that the case managers and shelter director can access it during the following day shift.
• Complete and email incident reports before the end of the shift.
• Report incidents to the Shelter Director and Case Managers via an email sent within 24 hours and a telephone call to the Site Director immediately after crisis/emergent situations.
• Evaluate the condition of the shelter, temporary modular, and pods, and complete work orders to report safety concerns and needed repairs.
• Follows all policies and procedures, including agency, department, grant, and contractual agreements.
• Participates in team meetings.
• Completes all required training (e.g., HMIS, case management, crisis intervention).
• Protects client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and LSSSC Policies and Procedures.
• Will work a flexible schedule as needed.
• Serve clients and the community with empathy and awareness of appropriate boundaries.
• Complete documentation regarding client services in the HMIS within 24 hours of the service.
• Submit leave requests and complete timecard in accordance with the employee handbook.
• The supervisor may assign other duties.

Education/Experience:
High School diploma and a minimum of 2 years of experience or an associate’s degree with 6 months of previous experience in a similar environment. Experience building positive team morale while meeting or exceeding administrative expectations. Valid California Driver's License.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software.
