Job Summary:
The District Manager is an integral part of the Woodhouse corporate spa management team, providing leadership for spa teams across the corporately owned locations. The District Manager ensures proper execution of company processes in each location to maximize business performance. This role has shared accountability for maximizing business results through consistent collaboration with in-spa staff, process implementation, and follow-up to ensure execution of all company operational standards. The District Manager is dedicated to creating a remarkable internal employee and external guest journey and fosters an environment where decisions are value-based to include accountability, collaboration, and humility. This position requires weekend and holiday support, based on business needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
People Management and Driving Excellence
- Provides direct leadership and oversight of the Spa Directors (SDs) for each location in the portfolio; coaches to expected workflow, location performance, and implements strategy for achieving and exceeding monthly performance targets.
- Holds in-spa management accountable for actively balancing the main business drivers of; staffing, utilization, appointment book maximization, coaching to selling behaviors and retail sales, and implementation of marketing initiatives.
- Provides quick support as needed to remedy in-location issues, staff or guest concerns, and POS program or maintenance issues.
- Maintains Woodhouse brand standards for luxury guest service and identifies areas of opportunity to elevate the guest experience in each location.
- Expertly manages time to include location site visits weekly to understand the needs of the teams, build community, uphold culture, implement plans towards continuous improvement, and ensure the seamless execution of the luxury guest experience.
- Holds teams accountable for upholding inventory management process, backbar checkout process, and all product related controls.
- Maintains close collaboration with the Director of Operations (DO) to identify wins, address challenges, implement processes, and drive improvement.
- Partners and collaborates with HR as needed on employee concerns, addressing issues, and facilitating the corrective action process in partnership with the DO.
Operational Oversight
- Assists in executing operational projects that improve efficiencies, productivity, quality, brand consistency and standards, and the guest experience.
- Assists in new program implementation by partnering with DO on new process development and SOP documentation.
- Maintains existing SOP library to keep available documents up to date.
- Monitors employee master schedules utilized by SDs, ensuring compliance with schedule requirements.
- Regularly monitors spa appointment books, providing strategic guidance to SDs to optimize scheduling efficiency and increase revenue potential.
- Assists in report pulling and data collection.
- Communicates and coordinates with product vendor reps when needed.
- Assists in communication and coordination as needed for bi-weekly payroll processing for the corporate location employees.
- Maintains expertise in our operating systems to assist teams in troubleshooting, training, and utilizing systems to their full potential.
- Partners with SDs on maintenance needs as needed, including collecting quotes and information, and coordinates with DO on budget for approval.
- Partners with HR on projects as agreed upon by Director of Ops and Director of HR.
- Assists as needed in franchisee training, program development, projects, and implementations as needed by the Woodhouse Corporate Operations team.
Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- Previous luxury day spa experience highly preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of multi-unit/multi-state leadership experience within a relevant industry like spa, luxury, or massage
- Proven track record of driving revenue, upholding operational standards, and achieving client satisfaction
- Must be willing to travel to out of state
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective leadership skills including prioritizing and goal setting/management
- Growth-mindset with ability to build for the future
- Proficiency in base computer use, including e-mail, MS Word, and Excel
- Proficient with standard operating software, including Outlook, MS Suite, Teams, Meevo, or similar booking platform experience
- Ability to travel between spas required, in location, up to 25% of the time
Compensation:
The base salary range for this role is $70,000-$85,000 annually, commensurate on experience. This role is eligible for a quarterly and annual bonus based on performance. All bonuses are subject to board and CEO approval.
