Special Populations Recreation Coordinator Position Overview:
This is specialized work in coordinating recreation and community service programs, activities and events for Special Populations.
Work involves responsibility for planning, implementing, coordinating, promoting and scheduling special recreation programs, activities and events for special populations. Work also involves planning, and scheduling of recreation facilities and for overseeing special populations programs. Work requires frequent contact with community leaders and various civic groups. Work requires the use of tact and skill in dealing with special populations citizens. Work is performed under general supervision and is reviewed through discussions, staff conferences, and reports.Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation from a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education; approximately two years of experience in social services work or experience in community based special populations recreation; knowledge of physically challenged equipment and apparatus in order to accommodate individuals; experience in dealing with special populations citizens; or any combination of education, training, and experience.
Valid driver's license
Must be able to work nights and weekends
